Mike Lafko, Ben Lafko, and I decided to hike Grand Canyon together about one and a half years ago. On Nov 11th, we hiked from the top of the South Rim to the Colorado River (and Phantom Ranch), and back to the top of South Rim. We decended the South Kaibab Trail, and ascended via the Bright-Angel Trail. It was colder than normal when we hiked; about 12 to 15 degrees F just before starting into the canyon, prior to daybreak. However, the weather was otherwise great for the hike; with no wind, and none of the heat concerns normally entailed by a Grand Canyon hike. Temperatures were mild at the bottom; about 60 degs. Thanks to Mike and Ben for their photos during the hike.
