These photos are of a 7 day backpacking trip, in which Terry Tracy, Jack Yocum, Jim Williams and me were in the Ansel Adams Wilderness portion of California's Sierra Nevada mountains. We entered on August 24th at Agnew Meadows trailhead, and exited on August 30th at Devils Postpile NM.

We intended to finish the rest of the 4th leg of the Sierra High route that we did not complete last year, and then exit at Tuolumne Meadows in Yosemite NP. However, our third day of hiking was difficult, with crossing over North Glacier Pass, and then trying to reach Twin Island Lakes to camp. We never made it to these lakes on day 3; having run out of daylight. On day 4, we carelessly decided to bypass Twin Island Lakes and try to get to the next lake (Blue Lake). This was a mistake, as we lost too much altitude before being able to access a canyon that would then lead to Blue Lake.

Upon realizing this, we selected another hiking route (~ 22miles) that allowed us to exit in three more days at Devil's Postpile NM.
